Through an exclusive contract signed with 16 fishing villages and fisherman in Gijang-gun, around 1,000 tons of seaweed are purchased from January to March when they are in season, and freshly stored through blanching, salting, and boiling while being harvested. They are packaged after being put in a drier for 8 hours under 60°C heat.

Enjoy it as oyster seaweed soup.
1. Put soaked seaweed in a pot and fry with sesame oil.
2. Pour water and season with soy sauce and minced garlic, then add cleaned oysters and boil to finish.

Compare the volume of 대장각 산모미역 (240g) and 완도 자른미역 (100g). It was the best 미역 I purchased at Wooltari even though it is expensive.

완도 자른미역 is so convenient to use and clean. It becomes soft just with ~10 minute of soaking in water

미역국을 너무도 좋아하는 울 딸!!  미역, 고기, 간장을 바꿔가며 정성을 다해 여러 방법으로 끓여도 예전에 출산 후 엄마가 끓여주셨던 그 맛이 안 나더군요. 

조금 비싼 듯 하지만 한국에서의 판매가와 별 차이 없이 바다 건너 온 기장미역을 보고 "이 미역은 산모용 미역이라 하니 내가 찾던 그 맛일까?'하며 주문 하였지요. 고급진 포장을 조심스레 뜯고 물에 불리기 전에 조금 뜯어 입에 넣었는데.. "헉!😳맛있다!!!"

기름기가 적은 소안심을 참기름으로 달달 볶다가 불린 미역 넣고 또 달달~ 물을 넣어 끓이다 국간장 조금 넣고 마법의 소스 홍게 백간장으로 맛을 조절했지요. 국물색이 점점 맛 있는 색으로 변하고 결국 맛 보면서 배를 채웠어요.😁
하루 지난 오늘에서야 제대로 시식을 했는데.." OMG!!! 바로 이 맛이야!!!" 감탄!!!😘
미역이 미역국의 맛을 좌우한다는 걸 주부생활 26년만에 알게 되었네요~💞
부모님 생신에 꼭 한 번 끓여드려 보고픈데...코로나가 한국을 더  멀게 만들었네요.
